This adapter replaces a quill stem on a threaded-fork bike and lets you use Aheadset-style stems, in case you'd prefer that.
Most frames have used 1-inch threaded steerers with 22.2mm internal diameter. Some MTB frames from the 90s use "oversized" 1-1/8" threaded steerers with 25.4mm internal diameter. If you're not sure we highly suggest measuring, since this product isn't returnable if it's been installed.
If you have a Cannondale from when they were doing really weird steerers, sorry, this won't help you. Good luck though. If your bike is French or sometimes just strange, there might be a different inner diameter as well. Again, please measure accurately with vernier or digital calipers.
