A recap of our small Toronto visit

This past weekend, our good buds from Boneshaker and Gremlins were putting on the extremely cool, way too much work honestly, Vintage MTB Expo in Toronto. We went to visit!

The event itself was frankly awe-inspiring for a bike nerd. My apologies to everyone on opening night whom I ignored, I was just locked in on these bikes and their sometimes ridiculous, always creative details. We got to see bikes from a few private collections spanning the entire history of North-American mountain biking from the late 70's to the late 90's.

Jake from Boneshaker also collaborated with artist Wende Cragg to show prints of her now-famous beautiful photos of the earliest days of mountain biking in Marin County. Seeing period photos next to some of the exact same bike models was extra-cool.

On Saturday the weather was warm if wet for the group ride organized by Gremlins, and I met with loads of C&L at-a-distance regulars and well-wishers. We biked from Trinity-Bellwoods to the expo space behind Blood Brothers Brewing, through rain and fog and a happy city waking up to Spring. Check out bike pal @compeandcalle's video wrap up over on youtube!

It was a pleasure to ride a Hog's Back around Toronto visiting all the coolest bike shops the city has to offer, with all their specialties and deep bike knowledge. See you all again soon and come see us when you're here in Montréal, we'll go for a ride!
