M5 (4mm) does most M5 bolts that would take a 4mm Allen key, like water bottle bolts and some threadless stem bolts
M6 (5mm) does the bigger threadless stem bolts and others which would take a 5mm Allen key
M8 (6mm) does the bolts on quill stems, which take a 6mm Allen key
