Newbaum's Cushioned Cloth Bar Tape

Like regular Newbaum's and in the same colours, but with neoprene padding on the back. A bit shorter but a bit wider, so it evens out. These take shellac just as well as the non padded version and it's easy enough to do at home. Here's a helpful guide on how from our friends at Velo Orange. Shellac'ing, although not absolutely necessary, will help protect the tape from wear and discolouration.
