Aluminum and carbon track pursuit frame, designed in Montreal for competitive fixed-gear criterium racing
Description
The Bassi03,welded from 7005 aluminum tear-shaped tubing with a 12K carbon fork, is our performance Criterium frame. Whether sprinting on the velodrome, defying the laws of physics during a closed circuit race, or winning an alleycat, the Bassi03 is the frame of choice of Team Bassi. The composite fork with an aluminum steerer, which we chose for its durability, is drilled to accommodate a front brake. The undrilled rear seatstay bridge and the slightly downward sloping top tube are signifiers of the true track identity of the Bassi03. Minimal BASSI03 design available in white stripes on matt black mass or gloss black stripes on matt black mass, design created by local design wiz kids Jean-Sebastien Baillat and Guillaume Cardell.

Assembly tips
Some frames, such as Bassis, have an anti-rust E.D. coating covering inside and outside surfaces. This very thin coating is slick and hard - if your seatpost is very smoothly polished (like a Bassi or Nitto) there can be some slippage. You can add some carbon grip paste (available at all bike shops) or rough up the texture inside the seat tube with a hone or some fine sandpaper. You don't need to get down to the metal, just add some texture to the coating!
Modern frame manufacturers have excellent quality control, and great tooling to face and ream the head tube and bottom bracket, but some paint overspray can occur after fabrication. Consider adding the frame preparation labour add-on to ensure all the frame bearings are coplanar and coaxial, ensuring long service life.
